USA project among the winners of ENR’s “2023 Year in Construction” photo contest

Halmar International, a subsidiary of the ASTM Group and one of the main Design-Build construction companies in Northeastern U.S.A., has been appointed among the winners of Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) “Construction Photo Contest” for the year 2023. The contest, launched by the leading U.S.A. publication specialized in the world of construction, rewards the pics that best represent the industry.

The image, selected from more than 1,200 entries, was taken in New York City at the construction site of the “Van Wyck Expressway,” a project that involves the road and rail renovation of a strategic connection linking the city to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), registering the transit of more than 60 million passengers annually.

The shot captures the complexity of the project in which rail, highways and bridges intersect in the middle of one of the busiest and most vital areas in the United States. The works, also thanks to the remarkable efforts of the Halmar team, do not cause the interruption to road system and railway line. The winning image succeeds in summarizing and clearly capturing these features.
