OUR COMMITMENT TO AN ACCESSIBLE SITE

ASTM considers the accessibility of its website an essential requirement and an integral part of its communication and sustainability activities. For this reason, we are constantly working to implement solutions that allow anyone to access the content we offer, as easily as possible and independent of a user’s circumstances and capabilities, also based on the improvements offered by the latest information technology and the Web.

Therefore, it is our goal to comply as comprehensively as possible with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1), which define ways to make Web content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. By following these guidelines, we aim to make this website accessible to the widest possible audience by removing or reducing as best as possible impediments to people with visual, physical, or cognitive impairments or other impediments.

With the purpose of always engendering the most accessible navigation possible, the portal uses various technologies that are offered through a specific accessibility interface. Using the instruments included in this interface people with disabilities can adjust and customize the presentation of the information on the website, in order to adapt its use according to their needs.

ASTM has therefore made it a priority to increase the level of accessibility of its Internet portal. As an example, we have worked on the HTML code used, on the content provided, and on disability features which facilitate the use of screen readers by blind users and the introduction of keyboard features to aid people with motor disabilities.

However, despite our efforts to allow everyone to customize the site to their needs, we cannot exclude the presence of pages and/or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the progress of becoming accessible, or currently lack an appropriate technological solution to render them accessible.
