ASTM sustains the new University of Pisa PhD course for infrastructure analysis and control

Autostrada dei Fiori, a concessionaire of the ASTM Group, is supporting the new Industrial PhD course in Analysis and Control of Infrastructural Structures of the University of Pisa, starting this coming November 2022.

The Doctorate aims to provide specialist skills for professional and research activities on the topics of modelling, monitoring and control of infrastructural works and structures. More specifically, the aim of the course is to train experts able to combine advanced knowledge in the field of structural and geotechnical civil engineering with the possibilities offered by the latest and most up-to-date technologies.

The introduction of new technological tools and the evolution of the regulatory scenario, in fact, require increasingly specialized and updated technical personnel, able to increase further the safety level of infrastructural assets, in particular bridges, viaducts and tunnels. Computerization and data analysis, sensors, new survey methodologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning will be at the center of this course of study, which also includes direct interaction with companies.

ASTM Group’s participation in this initiative aims to support qualified training in the sector and stands alongside collaborations with various Italian universities, including Bocconi University and the Milan Polytechnic.
