Road Safety Day: “Let’s play it safe” with ASTM

Road Safety Day aims to promote awareness on this issue to make travel safer and reduce the number of accidents. Road safety goes beyond compliance with traffic laws and requires the commitment of individuals, communities, organizations, and governments to encourage traffic education and adopt safe driving practices.

ASTM, as the world’s second-largest highway operator by miles operated, devotes special attention to the issue of road safety. In addition to ensuring high infrastructural safety standards along its highway network, the Group has long launched an awareness-raising campaign for young people: “Let’s play it safe”, a traveling road education tour in cooperation with public and private institutions, including the Traffic Police and the Fire Department.

Primary and secondary school students are involved in fun and educational activities with the aim of raising awareness and educating them in prudent, responsible driving, creating a culture of prevention that makes them active promoters of road safety.

On Road Safety Day, the ASTM Group intensified the tour stops. Many young participants took part in interactive activities focused on the riskiest behaviours, such as cell phone use, alcohol or drug use and widespread inattention.
