A33: The first lot to complete the Asti-Cuneo motorway opens to traffic

Today, in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, the President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, and the main local institutions, a new section of the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway was opened to traffic, which connects the Alba ring road to the new Alba Ovest junction, near Verduno’s “Michele and Pietro Ferrero” Hospital. The ASTM Group is committed to guaranteeing the entry into service of the segment in advance of the work schedule, also to improve the current road network to and from the hospital, the reference healthcare facility for the area.

Umberto Tosoni, CEO of the ASTM Group, commented: “Opening the first completion lot to traffic of the Asti-Cuneo motorway is an important moment for the community and for the whole country. It will help us connect cities and territories, allowing people to save time and businesses to be more competitive. The completion of this first part of the work – continued Tosoni, – was made possible by an extraordinary public-private synergy and by the commitment of our employees who have worked tirelessly on this project. Now, we are ready to start the last lot and concentrate on finishing the works.”
