#Safetyfirst: an ongoing commitment, highlighted on World Day for Safety and Health at Work
28 April 2026On World Day for Safety and Health at Work, celebrated annually on April 28, the global and collective commitment to promoting safe and healthy workplaces is reaffirmed. In this context, where workplace safety remains an open global issue requiring reflection on both progress made and challenges yet to be addressed, ASTM continues to invest in prevention, training, and operational oversight, with the goal of tangibly reducing risks and improving the well-being of its workers.
The results achieved at the Group level confirm the effectiveness of this approach: in 2025, ASTM recorded a 17% reduction in the workplace accident rate compared to 2024, reflecting an increasingly robust and widespread management system. At the same time, the hours of health and safety training provided to employees reached 57% of the total, reflecting a structural investment in developing a culture of prevention.
Furthermore, a growing number of Group companies are committed to offering specialized training programs and seminars focused on workplace safety to raise awareness among contractors, subcontractors, and all parties involved in the execution phases of projects. Following these seminars, guidelines have been drawn up for the management of activities and the related reporting procedures.
For ASTM, safety is a guiding principle that shapes decisions, behaviour and operational processes, helping to build an increasingly safety-conscious, reliable, and sustainable working environment. The safety culture, extending far beyond a single day of celebration, becomes a daily practice that puts people centre stage.
