Words Matter: ASTM Supports the “Paolo Osiride Ferrero” Journalism Award
03 December 2025Today marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities which CPD – Consulta per le Persone in Difficoltà ODV ETS has long celebrated with initiatives and events aimed at promoting a culture of equal opportunities and social inclusion. This year, CPD renews its commitment with the DisFestival, a city-wide public program that, from November 29th to December 8th, brings Turin to life with events dedicated to valuing diversity and best inclusive practices.
The award ceremony for the “Paolo Osiride Ferrero” Journalism Award, part of the DisFestival activities, represents the conclusion of a careful evaluation process recognizing those within the Italian media who have distinguished themselves by creating content that raises awareness on disability issues and respect for all individuals. The prize includes three awards in the following categories: print, radio and TV, web and social media.
The ASTM Group, together with other organizations from both the profit and non-profit sectors, supports this initiative by contributing to the monetary award for each category and participating in content evaluation. Giampaolo Frante, Group Communication & Institutional Relations Director, and Loretta Corti, Head of Brand and Digital Communication, are respectively members of the Jury and the Scientific Technical Committee of the prize for the second consecutive year.
Words matter: breaking stereotypes, prejudices and assumptions about disability through careful and contemporary language is an important goal for ASTM. Alongside words, however, action is essential, which is why since 2022 the Group has been collaborating with CPD on concrete projects to promote an inclusive, open, and aware society.
