Towards Milan–Cortina 2026, the ASTM Group builds the infrastructure of the Olympic Games

From mobility to the Olympic experience, the ASTM Group’s contribution to the Games takes shape through strategic infrastructure designed to support athletes, spectators and host communities during the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. This commitment confirms the Group’s leading role in the development of complex infrastructure projects at both national and international level, leveraging the expertise of its companies involved in the delivery of key assets for accessibility and the smooth running of the competitions.

Itinera, EPC contractor of the ASTM Group, took part in the works for the new passenger terminal at Verona Valerio Catullo Airport, a crucial gateway for welcoming visitors during the Games. The project included the expansion and redevelopment of the terminal, increasing capacity to up to 5 million passengers per year, introducing new gates, advanced security and passenger flow management systems, as well as solutions focused on sustainability and energy efficiency.

At the same time, the Group played a key role in the construction of the new Milan Santa Giulia Multifunctional Arena, one of the official venues of the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. The ETERIA Consortium, of which Itinera and Sinelec are members, acted as general contractor for this iconic infrastructure designed by David Chipperfield. With a capacity of up to 16,000 spectators, the Arena is set to become a landmark for sport and major events. Two intense years of work have resulted in the largest indoor events arena in Italy and one of the largest in Europe.

From airports to arenas, and extending to the motorway network, the ASTM Group supports the Olympic Games through an integrated infrastructure system that includes the A4 Turin–Milan motorway and the TEEM A58, connecting venues, cities and communities across the Milan–Cortina 2026 experience.
