The ASTM Group joins the European debate on sustainability and governance in the TELT project

The ASTM Group took part in the “Lyon-Turin Engagement Forum,” organized by TELT (Tunnel Euralpin Lyon-Turin) on October 27th in Rome, in the magnificent setting of Palazzo Farnese, seat of the French Embassy in Italy.

To mark its tenth anniversary, TELT — the Franco-Italian public promoter of the cross-border section of the new Turin–Lyon railway line — opened its annual Forum to professionals from the public and private sectors, as well as students and researchers, with the goal of defining the key features of the next generation of international infrastructure.

The event, featuring keynote lectures, testimonials and round tables, offered an important opportunity for discussion on the central themes of governance, sustainability and innovation as applied to major European projects.

Through Itinera and Sitaf — respectively EPC contractor and motorway concessionaire involved in the TELT project — the ASTM Group contributed to the debate. Gianni Luciani and Marco Ercole, respectively Chairman and Chief Sustainability, Risk Management & QHS Officer at Itinera, shared the perspective of the lead contractor, while Claudio Vezzosi, CEO of Sitaf, offered a complementary viewpoint based on the specific role played by the concessionaire.

All speakers emphasized the importance of an integrated approach to infrastructure governance, capable of balancing public and private interests while strengthening cooperation between countries and local communities. They also reiterated that sustainability and innovation must serve as fundamental pillars for creating shared and lasting value, combining engineering efficiency with ethical responsibility.

As a key partner in the development of strategic infrastructure, the ASTM Group reaffirms its commitment in line with the spirit driving the TELT project: fostering a European future built on cooperation, innovation and sustainable development.
