Training for the future: ASTM invests in a 22,000-hour internal corporate training plan for 450 employees
20 January 2026The ASTM Group, whose headquarters are located in Italy, has launched a training journey with the support of the Fondo Nuove Competenze – Skills for Innovation, a Europe 27 project and a strategically important initiative under the National Programme Youth, Women and Employment 2021–2027, co-funded by the European Union. This measure, created to foster innovation and employment, makes it possible to enhance employees’ skills in response to the growing challenges of digitalization, environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
The Group has therefore launched an upskilling plan involving 450 professionals from its subsidiaries Itinera (EPC), Satap (concessionaire for the A4 Turin–Milan motorway), Sina (engineering company) and Sinelec (technology). The objective is one and only one: to consolidate the skills needed to effectively manage the entire value chain of the infrastructure sector.
The training programme, with a total value of over €600,000, has been tailored to the real needs of the various corporate functions and structured around an integrated model that encompasses the development of managerial, social and technological skills, focusing on the following macro-areas:
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics: introduction to machine learning for predictive analysis, essential for optimising infrastructure maintenance and management.
- Digitalisation and Cybersecurity: focus on process automation, cybersecurity and advanced control of transport networks.
- Industry 5.0 and Sustainability: training in energy management, eco-sustainable materials and green construction techniques to reduce environmental impact.
- Adaptive Leadership: strengthening managerial skills to lead change and manage the complexity of modern teams.
- Effective Communication: improving public speaking and digital communication in corporate contexts.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: promoting a fair and inclusive corporate culture.
The Fund reimburses the cost of working hours dedicated to attending skills development programmes.
